How does it work?
How does it work?
Menstrual cups are inserted into the vaginal canal, just below the cervix. Here, they collect menstrual blood instead of absorbing it like pads or tampons. They have little suction holes that create a seal with the vaginal walls to collect menstrual blood without leaking. A menstrual cup can be worn for up to 12 hours. Once ready to empty, hook your fingers around the base and squeeze, folding the cup. This allows you to break the suction, allowing the cup to be removed easily. Use the loop to help with retrieval.
How do I insert and remove a menstrual cup?
How do I insert and remove a menstrual cup?
To insert a period cup, fold it to make insertion easier. The most popular fold is the C-fold. Once folded, gently insert it into your vagina. Once inside, it will pop open and create a seal due to the suction holes. Run your fingers along the base to ensure the cup has ‘popped’ and is sealed. It should feel secure and comfortable.
